Algorithm Angst: I’ve been told I’m doing all the right marketing steps, but there’s a catch that authors should know. I did not publish directly through Amazon or Kindle, instead with a small press and Ingram distribution for several retailers. So, Amazon limits my access to modifying anything such as keywords, genres, and pricing. Also, when a reader buys my book through another retailer, the reader cannot post a review on Amazon. The result is my book’s visibility to potential readers is buried, unless they already know the title or my name.
